FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Charles D. Davidson, Amelia D. Prater, and Lawrence D. Gorman have been appointed as members of the Hazard Community and Technical College Board of Directors.

  • Charles D. Davidson, of Hazard, general manager of Pine Branch Mining and will serve for a term expiring May 15, 2025; and
  • Amelia D. Prater, of Campton, is a nursing home administrator. She will serve for a term expiring May 15, 2025; and
  • Lawrence D. Gorman, of Hazard, is an insurance agent. He will serve for a term expiring May 15, 2025.

The members of the Hazard Community and Technical College Board of Directors are selected from a list of three names submitted to the Governor by the Hazard Community and Technical College Nominating Commission and the Governor must select from those three names. The Board is responsible for adopting and implementing an annual budget, approving budget requests, and evaluating the functions of the school and the school’s staff.

Donald Ray Leathers Jr. has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board.

  • Donald Ray Leathers Jr.,of Shelbyville, is the chairman of the Shelby County Industrial Development Foundation Inc. He will serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.

The Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board (KWIB) serves as an advisory board to the Governor on workforce training and development issues. The Board is charged with creating a statewide vision for workforce development and adopting a plan to move Kentucky forward through workforce training and development.

Tamara Michelle James and Scott Harley Kaminsky have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists.

  • Tamara Michelle James, of Henderson, is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She will represent licensed marriage and family therapists and will serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023; and
  • Scott Harley Kaminsky, of Louisville, is a licensed marriage and family therapist. He will represent licensed marriage and family therapists and will serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023.

The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists is made up of seven gubernatorial appointees. The Board regulates marriage and family therapist licenses and oversees that all licensed marriage and family therapists in Kentucky practice within the state’s code of conduct for practicing therapy.
