LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin is taunting critics of a video showing him lobbing a grenade to “blow up red tape.”
Bevin posted another video Tuesday that started by saying “Boy, it takes so little to trigger a whiny liberal.”
He defended his grenade video, saying that the expenditure of dated munitions as a part of a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) has gotten “people worked up.”
He taunted critics and Democrats like U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth (Ky.-3) who said they were “shocked and amazed that this type of video coming from anybody in government.”
Bevin said he imagines Yarmuth is shocked.
“Coming from a party that wastes billions and billions on a regular basis in Washington, D.C., I would imagine the idea of blowing up red tape and corruption is shocking to him,” Bevin said. “We’re going to keep doing it. And we’re going to do it a whole lot more.”
Bevin offered a list of what he said are examples of waste, corruption, lack of transparency and inside deals that he has been blowing up. He said his administration is supporting state parks, fixing bridges and cleaning the state capitol.
“Let the whiners whine,” he said. “I love the fact that you’re this easily upset. Expect to be upset more often. Because if you’re upset by us cleaning up corruption, you’re going to be upset for a long time to come.”
