The Republican State Leadership Committee is launching an advertising campaign on eastern Kentucky airwaves linking House Speaker Greg Stumbo with national Democrats.

The 30-second television spot, titled “Changed,” features Stumbo expressing his support for President Barack Obama’s values and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s plan for eastern Kentucky’s economy juxtaposed with her remarks earlier this year that her administration would “put a lot of coal miners out of business.”

“Hillary’s coal plan? Obama’s values?” a male narrator asks in the spot. “Greg Stumbo: His values aren’t our values anymore.”

The ad, part of a $50,000 buy in eastern Kentucky, can be viewed here:

“Speaker Stumbo has continually voiced his support for President Obama’s values and Hillary Clinton’s crusade on coal where she pledges to put coal miners out of work, selling out his constituents in Eastern Kentucky along the way,” RSLC President Matt Walter said in a statement.

“Kentucky hasn’t changed – Greg Stumbo has. We’ll make sure voters get to know the real Greg Stumbo before Election Day.”

Stumbo’s office did not immediately return a request for comment.
