FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT) – Numbers released by Secretary of State Alison Lundergran Grimes office Wednesday morning show that voter turnout was much higher than predicted on Election Day.
The initial estimate from Secretary Grimes was for about 31% of register voters to cast their ballot on Tuesday. The data shows it ended up being closer to 42%.
Unofficial results for the General Election show 1,455,161 out of 3,451,537 registered voters went to the polls on Tuesday.

The deadline to request a recanvass in any race is November 12th at 4 p.m. local time. If any recanvasses are requested, they will take place on November 14th at 9 a.m. local time.
