BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — Rand Paul toured the different programs at SKYCTC Monday and learned how they turn students in to highly needed skilled workers once they graduate.
“We need great workers and skilled technicians, and I was impressed with the setup here,” Rand Paul mentioned.
“As I traveled around Kentucky, I’ve actually found that it’s not an absence of jobs, it’s an absence of workers. The big companies are saying we want good skilled workers that’ll show up for work, that can pass our drug test and things like that, and so when you find these kids and young men and women who are really committed like this, that’s what our companies around Kentucky are looking for.”
However, as the debate comes closer to kicking off, the U.S. Senator says tonight’s debate will be pivotal.
“I think the election is really close, it’s gotten very narrow and I think the debate is incredibly important. I think the debate tonight will have bigger viewership than any debate we’ve ever had.”
The senator also mentioned how important it is for Donald Trump to stay calm, cool and collected as he goes against the democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.
“I think if Donald Trump presents himself in a presidential manner, and he talks about how Hillary Clinton made unwise decisions particularly regard to you know, defending the ambassador in Benghazi, when they were asking for more help she was withdrawing the help,” Rand Paul added.
The 2016 Presidential Debate airs Monday at 8 pm Central Time.
