LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT/WKYT) – An increase in flu cases has led UK Hospital administrators to temporarily restrict visitations.

Sister station WKYT reports the restrictions includeonly two visitors in a room at a time, masks and other protective wear and no visitors younger than 12.

“The restrictions are limiting visitations for people who are ill. That’s actually been the standard, so if you are sick, if you have symptoms like cough or fever, we ask that you not visit your loved ones,” said Derek Foster, the UK Healthcare Medical Director for Infection Prevention and Control.

Additional rules may be added in special care units such as children’s critical care and oncology units.
