COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as six months are now being administered at UK HealthCare.
Following emergency use authorization by the FDA and the CDC, UK HealthCare is now offering both the Pfizer and Moderna versions of the COVID vaccine for the last group to be protected – children between the ages of six months and five years old.
The Pfizer vaccine involves a longer process. It’s a three-dose series, with the second dose given three to eight weeks after the first and the third eight weeks after the second. The Moderna option offers quicker full protection in the form of a two-dose series with the second administered four to eight weeks after the first.
Parents are strongly encouraged to set an appointment at ukvaccine.org. The site will send a confirmation email with an access code that allows you to schedule an appointment.
